Tonilyn Hornung

Tonilyn has always preferred writing in her room to playing kickball outside. She's been writing essays and articles for over 15 years and her humorous self-help book How to Raise a Husband was published for wives, husbands, and coffee tables everywhere.

Tonilyn has written over 400 essays on parenting and relationships and they've been seen in publications such as The Washington Post, HuffPost, HuffPost Parenting, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Elle, Harper's Baazar, and other Hearst publications. When her essay for Cosmopolitan about strangers touching her pregnant belly gained national attention, she was interviewed for Good Morning America. Two of her essays have gone viral and she's been interviewed for numerous national TV and radio shows.
Her articles are regularly featured on popular parenting sites like SheKnows, Mom.com, Insider Parenting, Cafemom, Mother Untitled, Milk-Drunk, The Mothership, Romper, Popsugar, Scary Mommy, LA Parent Magazine, Today's Transitions Magazine, and many other sites and magazines her husband has never heard of. Tonilyn recently won a Gold Award in Excellence from the Parenting Media Association for an article about how to divide family chores.

Tonilyn graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory of Music. She has performed in regional theaters across the country as well as a leading role in a First National Tour. Tonilyn is a working voice-over artist so when she gets bored she can write her own scripts and record them. She lives with her 3 smart Border Collies (who proofread all of her work), one sassy kitty, one supportive husband, one growing-up-too-fast son, and never enough closet space.
